Privacy Policy

SkillFitly is designed to need as little of your data as possible. This page explains what we do — and don't do — with the text you submit.
What we process
When you run an analysis, your resume and the job description are sent to our server, analyzed, and the result is returned to your browser. The text is held only in memory for the duration of that request.
What we store
- Your resume: not stored. It is discarded as soon as the analysis returns.
- The job description: not stored.
- Accounts:you can use one free analysis without an account. To run more, you may create an account with an email and password. We store your email address and a securely hashed password (never the plaintext), along with a per-day count of how many analyses you've run — used only to enforce usage limits. We do not store the resumes or job descriptions you analyze, whether or not you have an account.
- Cookies: if you create an account we set an essential, signed session cookie to keep you logged in. Anonymous visitors get a small signed cookie that counts free runs. These are functional, not advertising, cookies.
Uploaded files
PDF and DOCX files are parsed in memory to extract text and are not written to disk or retained after the request completes.
Affiliate links
Course recommendations may include affiliate links to providers such as Udemy and Coursera. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These links are marked with rel="sponsored". We do not share your resume or job-description text with these providers.
Analytics & cookies
This MVP does not set tracking cookies. If privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics are added later, this policy will be updated to describe them.
Third-party processing
If AI-generated features (such as tailored cover letters) are enabled, the relevant text may be sent to a third-party model provider solely to generate that output. This policy will name any such provider when the feature is live.
